Story Time Begins at Rocky Ford Public Library
Story Time begins at the Rocky Ford Public Library, 400 South 10th Street on Thursday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m. Theme for the day is BUGS! Story Time is a free program open to all pre-school age children. Activities include stories, songs, games, simple crafts and lots of fun. Programs continue weekly through May 2012. During August the Rocky Ford Public Library added 84 new titles and was used by 4,172 patrons bringing the year-to-date total to 29,176. Twenty-four new patrons visited, bringing the number of new patrons for the year to 188. Changes made to the patron list included the deletion of 351 records, and the editing of 483 records.
The library computers were used by 1,737 people during the month, year-to-date use was 11,199. The circulation of items came in at 1,808 for the month, bringing the year total to 13,790 items. Rocky Ford Public Library Partners with Space Science Institute to Host Exhibit
The Rocky Ford Public Library will host Discover Space, an exhibit designed by the Space Science Institute to provide science and technology-related learning experiences to the public. Discover Space will run from June 1st through June 30th.
Discover Space will include two exhibit areas. Space Storms will introduce audiences to space weather, covering topics such as sunspots, coronal mass ejections, and magnetic storms. This area includes a cut-away model of the Sun and several educational games.
